Congratulations to the ten students who participated in the Delaware County All-County Festival this past weekend. Sophia Baker, Avyn Graham, Logan Mattice, and Christian Voorhees participated in the Elementary Chorus. Ariah Cruz and Bray Shultes participated in the Junior Band. Kaetlin Cross, Adreannah Cruz, Connor Sells, and Rowan Tyree participated in the Senior Chorus. All of the students performed amazingly this weekend! Awesome job!

1st grade did a STEM activity and created some very clever leprechaun traps. The sneaky leprechaun also visited Pre-K and left a trail of gold coins and some yummy treats.

Mrs. Wyckoff's 7th Grade Life Science class has been learning about genetics! They completed a lab that had them randomly determine the traits of their Alien babies. They used these traits to then create their Alien babies artistically. This activity enforced that the combination of traits is determined by both parents and that is why they look different from their parents and their siblings! Great job 7th grade!!!

Our Pre-Kindergarten class celebrated St. Patrick's Day by making rainbows and clouds into yummy snacks with gummy candy and marshmallows!

Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is the #1 voluntary health organization in the United States for people living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases. Each year they hold a Shamrock Fund Drive to raise money for the cause. This year our National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, and Students Against Destructive Decisions members raised $417 towards the cause. Way to go GCCS Wildcats!

Spring Picture Day is coming soon! March 26th (a.m. only) Unlike the fall, this portrait program is offered as an optional service and fundraiser for our school. You are under no obligation to buy. - All students in UPK through the 6th grade will be photographed, as we do in the fall. - Students in grades 7-12 will only be photographed if they sign up to do so. The sign-up sheet will be in the Guidance Office.

A note from Mrs. Goodwin in the GCCS Library: To celebrate Read Across America (and Dr. Seuss's Birthday) in the library, we played musical books...kind of like musical chairs, but with a twist. Enough chairs were placed in a circle and different Dr. Seuss' books were placed on each one. When the music started, the students walked around the circle, and when the music stopped, they had to sit in a chair and read or do a "picture walk". After several rounds, students were able to explore different books and check out their favorites. A great time was had by all.

On Monday, March 4th, grades PK-6 gathered together to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday and Read Across America. The Wildcat even stopped in to "Drop Everything And Read" with us!

The Faculty and Staff here at GCCS would like to introduce Michelle Casazza, our new Special Education Teacher, and Cody Botha, our new Cleaner. We welcome them both to our school and community.

The Class of 2026 is hosting an English Muffin Pizza Night on March 21st from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Gorge Firehouse. The cost is by donation. Thank you as always for your support!!
