Congratulations to our Gilboa FCCLA members that attended this year’s National Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL! Bray Shultes, Abigail Woodcock and Ariana Yepez all qualified to represent NYS FCCLA back in March at the state conference for their STAR event projects (Students Taking Action with Recognition). Bray competed in the Focus on Children Level 1 category for her project on reducing screen time. Abigail and Ariana competed in the Focus on Children Level 2 category for their project on promoting a kindness month in the elementary school. Bray received a gold medal and was a top 10 finalist! Abigail and Ariana received silver medals for their project! Excellent job ladies! We are proud of you! Besides competing, Gilboa FCCLA attended all general sessions and workshops. They were able to enjoy the inspirational message given by the keynote speaker, Alton Fitzgerald White, from Broadaway’s “The Lion King,” get professional headshots taken, meet representatives from multiple colleges and armed forces, and participate in activities sponsored by Safe Roads, Safe Drivers. They also participated in youth networking events and pin trading, and joined over 8000 other members at the FCCLA Night at Universal Studios and AquaGlow Afterparty at Aquatica. Thank you to all who sponsored and donated towards this amazing experience for these students!
