GCR Fall Sports Update 9/30/26: Boys Soccer

JV Boys Soccer:
The JV Boys remained perfect with a well played 8-0 victory to send their record to 5-0-0. Colin Tyree opened the scoring half way through the first half on a beautiful through ball by Kaleb Vamosy. This would be the first of three goal contributions for the 8th grader (2 goals, 1 assist). Dylan Boringer would add a second before Mason Hubbard closed out the first half on a gorgeous cross from Oleksa Kutcher and GCR would head into the break up by 3.

GCR would come out in the second half looking to close out their first clean sheet of the season by going on attack.
Goals from Vamosy, Cole Sweezy (his first of the season!), Colin Tyree and two more from Mason Hubbard to complete his hat trick and close out a dominant 8-0 victory. Cole Sweezy and Jakob Rosa combined for the shut out for GCR.

GOALS - C. Tyree (2), D. Boringer, M. Hubbard (3), C. Sweezy & K. Vamosy.
ASSISTS - K. Vamosy (2), C. Tyree (1), O. Kutcher, V. Miraglio & K. Speenburgh

Varsity Boys Soccer:
The boys varsity soccer team traveled to Delhi to take on Edmeston in the first round of  the Delhi tournament. Edmeston would strike early with two goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. The score would remain 2-0 late in the second half, that is when Edmeston put the game away with two more goals in the closing minutes to take a 4-0 victory. This is  the first  loss of the season for our boys.  We are now 7-1-1 overall and 2-0 in league play. Next up for our boys, Saturday against Delhi at noon.
