Good afternoon, Due to the continuation of a large number of students and staff under quarantine, the Gilboa-Conesville Central School District will remain on remote instruction through Friday, January 14. We will assess conditions over the weekend and update before Tuesday, January 18. School is not in session Monday, January 17, due to the MLK, Jr. holiday. The school has rapid tests that you may pick up or we can deliver them to you if anyone in your family is not feeling well. In addition, we are participating in pool testing if you would like to be part of that as well. Please call our health office for any questions or to ask for some tests. The more we know the better we can plan. Students in grades 7-12 will follow the regular bell schedule. Elementary students will follow their remote learning schedule as per their teacher’s directions. Attendance will be taken; it is important for students to be online for their classes. Students who are in full-time BOCES placements will attend those placements and will be transported. Students in CTE classes at NCOC will be transported from GCCS to NCOC. Students are not to drive directly to NCOC. AM CTE students should be here by 9 am for transport, and PM CTE students should be here by 12 noon for transport. If you need transportation to GCCS, please call 607-588-9822 and leave a message with the name of the student who needs to be transported. Faculty and Staff are to report to the building. If you would like to receive lunches for your children, please call 607-588-7541, option 1, to leave a message. When leaving the message, please include your name and number of students in your household. Pick up time is between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Cafeteria door.

We still have a supply of rapid test that are available to use in your home. All we ask is if someone in your household does test positive that you contact the school as well as the Schoharie County Department of Health. Please reach out to our health office at extension 1033 to arrange a pick up of test kits. In addition, we have a limited supply of KN95 masks from the county that we may distribute. Please let us know if you would like a few masks as well.

Greetings. As you know, there has been a number of Covid quarantine updates in the past week and many seem to vary by county. At GCCS we take students from 3 counties but as our school resides in Schoharie County our governing agency on quarantine is the Schoharie County Department of Health. We would encourage people to like the DOH on Facebook, check out their website, and call them directly for the latest information. Of course Ali Cox is available during school hours to answer questions you may have. We are, and always have, been following the current orders from the Department of Health. It is our understanding that is what NY State Contact Tracers are telling people 5 day quarantine so we will follow this unless told otherwise. As soon as we get any changes in guidance we will post it. We are working hard every day to have in person and safe instruction. We will post an update Sunday about school on Monday. As soon as we know, you will know.
