Gilboa-Conesville Central School

Any children in the Gilboa-Conesville Central school district who will be age 4 by December 1, 2023, are eligible for our 2023-2024 Universal Preschool Program. Please contact the school at 607-588-7541 to request registration papers. All the required papers must be completed and returned for your child to be registered for the program.

There will be an emergency Board of Education meeting at 5:30 p.m. on May 2, 2023. The meeting will go directly into executive session to discuss personnel.

On Monday, April 24, 2023, the entire 10th grade went on a field trip to the Bronx Zoo. The purpose of the trip was to learn about the migration of the Monarch butterfly and it was tied into both Science and World Language standards. The Monarch migrates between the United States territory and a small reserve of land in the Michoacan region of Mexico. The time of year when the butterflies return to Mexico coincides with the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead (Nov. 1 & 2) and it is a belief that the butterflies represent the spirits of loved ones coming back to visit. We went to the Bronx Zoo in April because, around this time of year, the butterflies are returning to our area to lay their eggs in milkweed. Students were encouraged to plant milkweed to support the butterflies. They also had time to explore other areas of the zoo and experience the monkeys, gorillas, brown bears, a ropes course, reptiles, etc. It was a great day and the students all said THANK YOU!!

ATV Safety Project for Youth in Schoharie and Otsego Counties This program will run from 5/15 thru 7/15. For the first 25 youths: If they complete the ATV Safety E-course online and submit their certificate, they can receive a free ATV Helmet and Goggles from Bennett Motors in Fly Creek.

Attention all students, staff, and parents of Gilboa-Conesville Central School. The Board of Education is pleased to announce that the school district has hired a new superintendent, Bonnie Johnson. Mrs. Johnson will be taking up her new role starting July 1st, 2023. Mrs. Johnson brings with her a wealth of experience in education and school administration. She is known for her dedication to students, staff, and the community at large. Her passion for education and her drive to help every student achieve their full potential made her the perfect choice for the Gilboa-Conesville Central School. We are excited to welcome Mrs. Johnson to our school district, and we look forward to the passion for our district that she will bring. We believe that under her leadership, the school district will continue to grow and provide an exceptional education to all students. The boys modified baseball game scheduled for Saturday April 29th home vs. Charlotte Valley has been cancelled. Modified boys baseball team will practice today (Friday April 28th) from 3:30-5:00PM.

The varsity boys baseball team will play at Delhi on Friday (4/28/23). Game time is 4:30pm at the Legion Field in Delhi. This game was originally scheduled for Saturday (4/29/23) but has been moved due to the weather forecast.
